Drink of the week - Aperol Spritz - perfect on a sunny day!

Aperol Spritz has become extremely popular. Actually, this is not new, but has a history of over 100 years. I had my first experiences with this beauty when I visited Italy, but have taken this home with me. As summer approaches and the sun shines, I brush the dust off the Aperol bottle. The combination of Aperol, Prosecco and soda is refreshing and delicious. This is perfect in the sun on the porch. Serve when guests arrive before a good meal.

Ingredients

large glasses
  • 3 dl Sparkling wine
  • 2 dl Aperol
  • 1 dl Club soda
  • 1 pcs orange
Ingredients

Here I will tell you the recipe and some good tips to make it even better.

Step 1

This is an easy drink to make. The recipe is 3 parts prosecco, 2 parts Aperol and 1 part Soda. I always start by cutting some nice slices of orange. It is important to remove all the peel so that it is only orange flesh. Place these on a plate and put in the freezer. This keeps the drink cold longer and the orange pieces become almost like small slush pieces. Cut off some of the peel into neat strips. Do not bring the white on the peel, it tastes a bit bitter.

Step 2

Fill a large wine glass half full with ice cubes, add the frozen orange pieces. Pour in the Aperol first, then fill the glass almost completely with Prosecco and top with soda water. Cut a thin cut in one of the orange boats and hang on the edge. Garnish with a few strips of orange peel.
