Delicious fillets of fresh coalfish that are seasoned and fried in butter are the center of this dish. A delicious crust and shiny fine fish that flake apart is the recipe for a successful fish meal. Coalfish has a slightly darker color than cod and tastes a little more. Together with browned egg butter and vegetables, this tastes very good.
Step 1
Start by making the egg butter. Here is a link to a thorough explanation and recipe for egg butter Eggesmør - Denne klassiske sausen er magisk god til fisk!
Step 2
Turn on the oven 180 degrees hot air. Take some olive oil or other oil and season the potatoes with salt and pepper. Put in the oven and cook until tender. This takes +/- 30 minutes. Season the fish with plenty of salt and pepper.
Step 3
Grate carrots and squeeze over a little lemon juice. Cut up a couple of lemon boats for serving as well. Roll the fish pieces in flour and shake off superfluous flour.
Step 4
The fish is fried on medium + heat in good butter. Heat the pan and add butter. When the butter starts to get a darker color and stops bubbling, I put in the fish. Bake for about 5 minutes on one side before turning them. Bake for 2-4 minutes depending on the thickness on the other side. Pour over some of the butter along the way. The coalfish is finished when it flakes nicely and has a nice crust.
Step 5
Place everything neatly on a plate and sprinkle some small capers over the carrots. Finish with some fresh herbs and now you can enjoy a wonderful fish dinner. Good luck.
