Truffle has a very special taste!
Ingredients
- 15 gram fresh truffle
- 3 dl good extra virgin olive oil
I love the taste of fresh truffles! This very exclusive raw material is only available during certain periods of the year and from certain areas. No one has managed to create modern production of this tuberous fungus that grows underground. The price is unfortunately extremely high, but it takes a few grams to get the good taste. Truffle oil tastes very good and goes well with many different dishes.
Step 1
It is very easy to make truffle oil. There are different methods of making truffle oil. Some use the "cold method" and others use the "hot method". I have tested both and prefer to use hot oil to extract even more flavor from the truffles and the durability is a little longer. Start by finding a pan and measure out the desired amount of good olive oil.
Step 2
I heat the oil to around 75 degrees.
Step 3
Use a clean bottle with a cork or a jam jar. Tear the truffle into thin slices and cut into smaller pieces. Then put the truffle in the bottle and pour over the hot oil.
Step 4
Wait to put the cork on until the oil has cooled down a bit. Put the lid on and gently turn the bottle over and over again. When the oil has reached room temperature, you can put it in the refrigerator. Truffle oil with fresh truffle should be stored in the refrigerator at all times. The durability varies slightly, but is usually between 1-3 months. Remember that when you use truffle oil in your food, there are not large amounts you need to give a good taste.
