Lamb shank is a cheap and popular raw material. When you first give this piece a few hours in the oven with good flavors, it becomes incredibly good!



The lamb

  • 4 pcs lamb shank
  • 3 pcs carrots
  • 0,5 pcs celery root
  • 2 pcs celery sticks (sticks)
  • 1 pcs onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 pcs red chili without seeds
  • 2 dl white wine
  • 0,5 liter lamb broth
  • 1 can canned tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil for frying
  • 2 tbsp smør til steking

The spice mixture

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp crushed coriander
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary
  • 1 tbsp fersk timian


  • 1 bunt fresh parsley
  • 2 pcs lemon (peel only)
  • 5 cloves garlic

Lamb shank is the leg of the lamb. A little tread muscle, but with a little time this becomes so juicy and tender. It is no longer a job to make lamb shanks, it just takes a little more time. Step 1

Find a large pan and set the oven at 150 degrees. Place half of the sauce from the pan in the bottom of the pan and place the fried lamb shanks well into the sauce. Pour over the rest of the sauce and use a spoon and make sure that all the shanks have had a good sauce on them.
