This dish was first served to me by a very good friend of mine named Pontus. He comes from Scania in Sweden and this was one of his favorites from childhood.
Ingredients
- 1 pcs falu sausage
- 1 gul onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 pcs carrots
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 pcs small box of tomato puree
- 1 glass grilled peppers
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2,5 dl cream
- 2 dl water
- chili spice
- salt and pepper
- pasta or rice
Korv means sausage, but here it is important that you use Falu sausage. This is a very simple dish to make and the sauce goes very well with both pasta and rice. You make this dish nicely in 20-25 minutes. As usual, I have taken the liberty of adjusting the recipe a bit to put my own stamp on the dish. In addition to the usual ingredients, I have added grilled peppers to a glass and some chilli. This dish is very child friendly!
Step 1
Start by finding a large pan and add a little neutral oil or butter. Put on a little over medium heat. Finely chop onion, garlic and carrot. The smaller pieces you cut the vegetables the less cooking time the dish needs.
Step 2
Let the vegetables fry in the oil until the onion starts to turn golden and soft. Cut the Falu sausage into pieces and add to the pan.
Step 3
After a few minutes, add tomato puree, sugar and chili powder. The dish should not be strong, but a small stitch of chili is very good. When using tomato puree in dishes, it pays to fry it for a few minutes. This makes the taste better.
Step 4
I run the paprika in a small blender until it is completely smooth, but it also works to cut it into small pieces. Add cream, water and paprika to cook for about 15 minutes.
Step 5
Taste the dish with salt and pepper. Boil pasta or rice. It's also good with a fresh salad, but it did not happen to me today. Add pasta or rice and add plenty of sausage stroganoff. Finish with a little freshly ground pepper and serve. Good luck with this Swedish dish.
