Shrimp Cocktail - One of the most famous dishes from the 80's is on its way back!
I had not tasted this in many years and it is very good !!
Ingredients
Shrimp cocktail dressing
- 4 tbsp hellmanns mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Heinz Ketchup
- 1 tbsp cognac
- 1 tsp worchestersauce
- 4 drops tabasco
- salt and pepper
- a little lemon juice
Shrimp cocktail
- 0,5 pcs iceberg lettuce
- 1 pcs avocado
- 1 pcs finely chopped red onion
- 50 gram shrimp without shell
- 1 skive lemon
- 4 tsp roe of cap
- a little fresh dill
Trends are going in waves and for many years it was almost forbidden to serve shrimp cocktails as an appetizer. Now the classic is on its way to becoming popular again. I have had to research a bit to find this recipe that should be as close to the original as possible. The result was a good shrimp cocktail just like you were served in better restaurants in the 80's.
Step 1
The dressing is important to get the nostalgic taste! Finished dressing is not allowed here, but you have to mix it yourself. Mix together all the ingredients in the dressing and season with salt and lemon juice.
Step 2
Cut up iceberg lettuce, red onion and avocado. Squeeze a little lemon juice over the avocado so it does not get dark in color before serving. Put everything together with fresh shrimp without shells and now only the assembly remains.
Step 3
Start by adding salad to the bottom of the cocktail glass and pour over some of the dressing. Add avocado and red onion. Then add plenty of shrimps and pour a little more of the dressing on the shrimps.
Step 4
Finish by garnishing with a little dill, a slice of lemon and a little roe of cap. Serve with a smile and enjoy this nostalgic classic. Good luck.
