The world's best white bread - Learn how to make homemade braided white bread

This is the best white bread I have ever tasted!

Ingredients

large braided white bread
  • 3 dl h-milk
  • 2 dl water
  • 2 tbsp akasi honey
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 0,5 pack dry yeast (for sweet doughs)
  • 1 pcs egg
  • 50 gram dairy butter
  • 800 gram wheat flour (preferably tipo 00 / pizza flour)

Sometimes it's just absolutely delicious with a light bread like a white bread. When summer comes, there is not much that tastes better than shrimp with accessories served on a good white bread plate. Here you get a simple and very good recipe for braided white bread.

Step 1

Start by mixing milk, water, honey, eggs and yeast. I make sure that the finished milk mixture is lukewarm. I then use cold milk and some hot water. Stir together and pour into the food processor. Pour in 2/3 of the flour and salt and run to a smooth mass. Dilute with the rest of the flour until you get a nice dough that releases the edge of the baking dish. Let knead for about 10 minutes. This means that the gluten makes lots of nice bonds and the consistency is better.

Step 2

Now I add a little and a little of the butter while the machine is kneading. If you have cold butter, it is smart to use a cheese grater. This gives jam-thin slices that the dough easily "eats" up. When the butter has been eaten up by the dough, the dough is ready to rise. Place in a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Leave to rise for 45 minutes.

How to braid the bread: Divide the dough into 3 equal parts and roll out into equally long dough sausages. Start by attaching all the ends together and braid carefully so you get a smooth bread dough that is braided. Braiding the bread gives it a stylish look, but also helps when the bread is to rise.

Step 4

Place the bread on a baking tray with baking paper underneath. Let the bread rise for another 45-60 minutes. I use the raising function on my Siemens oven "Steam and raising function" then the job is done in 25 minutes and the result is optimal. Sprinkle with a little flour just before the bread goes into the oven.

Step 5

Set the oven at 190 degrees above and under heat. I put on some steam when I bake bread. With a little steam, the bread reaches and grows more before a crust forms. If you do not have this, put a small form in the bottom of the oven and pour in 1/2 cup of water when you insert the bread. This also gives a steam and moisture in the oven.

Step 6

Let the bread bake for 35 minutes and do not open the oven door along the way. Now the loft is ready to be enjoyed. Allow the white bread to cool on a rack for a few minutes before cutting it up. The bread has a delicious and good crust. Good luck making homemade braid white bread.
