Homemade bread is always very good and it feels a little delicious not to have to buy far worse options at the store.

  • 200 gram wholemeal spelt flour
  • 100 gram oatmeal

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
Ingredients

In Norway, a lot of bread is eaten. It lies in our tradition and culture. Bread is often eaten for both breakfast and lunch. Then it may be okay to make homemade bread. It is not difficult and the durability is very good. My wife has insisted that I make some spelt bread as she does not tolerate wheat as well. So here is a very good recipe. Oats and yoghurt make this bread juicy and the taste is excellent.

Step 1

Mix together all the dry ingredients and add the liquid and yogurt. Knead together for 5-10 minutes. Leave to rise for 1 hour in a bowl covered with plastic. Divide into 2 and place them in greased bread tins. Leave to rise for another hour and brush with milk. Sprinkle with a little more flour and oats. Bake for 45 minutes at 200 degrees (top and bottom heat / bottom rack in the oven). Let cool on a rack and enjoy a delicious bread. Good luck.
