According to my son, today's breakfast was absolutely magical! Arme Riddere is a classic that I think most people have learned to make at one time or another. I think I have not eaten this since I went to school, but it is guaranteed not to be long until next time.
Ingredients
- 6 pcs thick slices of white bread
- 4 pcs egg
- 3 dl milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 0,5 tsp cardamom
- butter for frying
- raspberry jam
- fresh raspberries
- icing sugar to sprinkle over
When you first make this dish, keep wholemeal bread and olive oil far away. White bread should be used here and it is important to fry in real butter. It gives an incredibly good crust and juicy bread. Serve with some fresh berries and jam. Here is my recipe.
Step 1
Start by finding a bowl and add eggs, milk and spices. Mix well.
Step 2
Cut the white bread into 6 slightly thick slices. Put the bread in the egg mixture and let the liquid soak into the bread. Turn the bread around. You do this with all the slices.
Step 3
Find a frying pan and set on a little over medium heat. Add butter and wait until the butter starts to brown before placing the wet slices of bread in the pan. Bake for 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread has a golden and nice color on both sides.
I think it looks best and divide each slice in two. Place on a tray and sprinkle with a little icing sugar. Add fresh berries and a bowl of jam. Now you can enjoy a delicious breakfast! Good luck and enjoy yourself.
