Chevre au gratin with honey - One of the easiest appetizers!

So easy and so good!


  • 300 gram chevre cheese
  • 4 skiver toast
  • 4 tsp honey
  • 1 kvist fresh thyme
  • a few drops of olive oil

When it comes to starters you have to make a lot of, this is one of the easiest. You put the cheese on a small piece of toast, grill it in the oven for a couple of minutes and finish with a little honey on top. Although it may sound simple, the slightly dry Chevreo cheese undergoes a major transformation when it is grilled and the result is a lovely flavor explosion of sweet and salty.

Gratinert Chevre

Step 1

Find 4 slices of toast and fry them crispy and golden in a little olive oil in a pan. I make toast by cutting a baguette into slices, but you can also use other types of light bread.

Step 2

Place the cheese on the bread and pour over a few drops of olive oil and some finely chopped thyme. Place them on a baking tray and put them in a preheated oven with the grill element at max. Bake for a few minutes until the top becomes au gratin.

Transfer the toast to a plate and pour some honey over the melted cheese. Garnish with fresh thyme and serve with a glass of red wine and enjoy.
