The taste of sour apples, crispy crumble and salty caramel sauce tastes lovely. Crumble pie can be used for many types of berries and fruits, but I like apples best. It is also very good with a little ice cream next to this pie. Use Norwegian good apples if you have the opportunity.
Start by peeling the apples and cut into pieces. Find a frying pan and set on medium + heat. Put the apple pieces in the frying pan and sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and a little vanilla extract. Mix together and cook for 5 minutes. Pour the fried apple pieces into a suitable pan.
Measure out the dry ingredients and add the butter. Mix together until you get a dry and crumbly dough.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees hot air. Pour the crumbled dough over the apples and put in the oven. The crumb pie should be baked for 30 minutes until it gets a crispy and golden top.
Make a homemade caramel sauce and season with salt. Here you have a thorough step by step explanation on how to make this sauce Salt caramel sauce - Pure pleasure!
Take out the fried crumb pie and let it rest for at least 10 minutes. Pour over some caramel sauce just before serving. It is also very good with a cool vanilla ice cream for this crumb pie. Good luck.
