Cubanos - The famous sandwich from Cuba!

It is not without reason that this sandwich from Cuba has become so popular.

  • 6 skiver jarlsberg cheese
  • 4 skiver pickles
  • 3 tbsp pork neck
  • cubano dressing

Dressing

  • 1 pcs egg yolk
  • 2 dl neutral oil
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • a little lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • mustard
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked peppers
  • 0,5 tsp celery salt

Ingredients

This is one of the most famous dishes from Cuba and it is so popular that national championships are held in who manages to make the best Cubano. It should be made with light bread, smoked ham, long-fried pork, mustard dressing, pickles and cheese. I have studied several videos and checked many recipes to arrive at this delicious recipe we can make well with ingredients we find at our local store.

Step 1

Make baguettes or buy some good baguettes and cut off both ends. Cut them into suitable sizes.

Divide the baguette in half lengthwise and spread plenty of the good dressing.

Step 3

Add cheese on both top and bottom. This melts deliciously when grilled later.

Now you should stack on the "bottom of the baguette" the good ingredients. Start with smoked ham, then pickles and top with the long-fried pork. Use a panini grill or a frying pan where you put something heavy on top (for example another pan / casserole). Let fry for a few minutes on both sides until the bread has turned golden and the cheese has melted. Serve with a bowl with a little extra dressing and a slice of lime.

Step 6

To make a dressing, make a quick mayonnaise yourself or buy a good mayonnaise such as Hellmann's mayonnaise. Mix equal parts mayonnaise and mustard. Pour in the spices and stir well.
