One of Germany's most popular street food dishes is Currywurst. The dish was originally from Berlin, but has now spread throughout Germany. Millions of servings of Currywurst are eaten and the sauce is probably one of the reasons. The sauce is served on top of pieces of quality sausages, often served with french fries or grilled sausage bread. I have researched a lot to find the most perfect and authentic recipe for Currywurst sauce.
Step 1
Start by finely chopping the onion and fry together with olive oil on medium + heat until the onion has become soft. Add finely chopped garlic and cook for a few more minutes. When the garlic has also become shiny and soft, it is ready to add the other ingredients.
Step 2
Mix all the other ingredients in the pan and simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 3
Smooth the sauce with a hand mixer or blender and allow to cool.
Step 4
Can be stored in an airtight glass in the refrigerator for about 1 month if you do not eat it up before that. With this in the fridge, the everyday sausage dinner becomes a party! Good luck.
