Gladkokkens Beef snacks - My version of this retro classic!
This classic is probably best known from fast food restaurants with varying success and quality.
Ingredients
- 250 gram beef tenderloin
- 10 pcs small potatoes
- 1 pcs red paprika
- 10 pcs mushroom
- 8 pcs small onions / shallots
- butter for frying
- salt and pepper
- homemade bearnaise sauce
Here is my version of this dish and I can reveal that this version is dangerously good! Delicious tender beef, baked potatoes, dessert onions, mushrooms, peppers and homemade bearnaise sauce. This is so far from the fast food version you come and is probably a gourmet version of Beef snacks.
Step 1
Start by dividing the potatoes into pieces and place in a fireproof pan. Add a little olive oil, salt and pepper and bake in an oven at 200 degrees until tender. This takes about 35 minutes depending on the size of the potatoes.
Step 2
The rest of the dish is made in the same pan. Start by seasoning the steak with salt and pepper and fry in the frying pan until it is medium fried.
Step 3
When the steak is enjoying itself in the frying pan, I cut up onions, mushrooms and peppers.
Step 4
When the steak is done cooking, I take it out of the pan and let it rest until the rest is ready. Put the vegetables in the frying pan you fried the steak. Feel free to add a little extra butter, salt and pepper. When the potatoes are done, I pour them into the frying pan together with the vegetables.
Step 5
I always make homemade bearnaise sauce, but of course it is also possible to buy a "finished" alternative. Here is my recipe for homemade bearnaise with instructional video Béarnaise Sauce - My favorite sauce!
Step 6
Cut the steak into thin slices and the dish is ready to be enjoyed. Place the vegetable mixture on the plates first. Top with slices of beef and pour over the bearnaise at the end. Sprinkle over some finely chopped chives and you have a delicious steak dinner ready. Good luck!
