Grilled salmon on cedar wood - Simple and perfect!

Ingredients

Portions
  • 2 pcs cedar planks
  • 400 gram salmon
  • 2 tsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 2 tsp
  • 1 tbsp
  • 1 pcs lime (juice only)
Ingredients

This recipe is very good and it's fun to use cedar planks when grilling. By putting them in water first, it gives both flavour, smoke and helps to regulate the temperature of the fish. Here I show a simple and very good recipe. I have made a video of this recipe which you can see at the bottom of the recipe.

Step 1

Start by soaking the cedar planks in water for 20 minutes. This causes them to attract water. Heat the grill to 130-150 degrees. Here we will be grilling indirectly, so create a zone that is not directly above the heat or use a pellet grill/smoker. Take the planks out of the water and place the salmon pieces on them.

Step 2

Place the planks straight on the grill grate and grill for +/- 20 minutes until you have a core temperature of around 50 degrees. The time will vary somewhat depending on the type of grill and the heat, so use a thermostat to watch the core temperature.

Step 3

When the salmon has reached the correct core temperature, just take them out of the grill. I think it is stylish to serve on the cedar plank. Sprinkle over some finely chopped parsley and slice over some lime juice. This tastes incredibly good and the planks can be used over and over again. Here you can also see a video of how I make this recipe. Good luck.
