"Brain Cake" - Perfect for Halloween!

When I saw this on youtube and showed it to my son he said: I WANT IT FOR THE HALLOWEEN PARTY! Then it was just a matter of trying. This one looks pretty nasty, but is pretty easy to make. Here you have the scariest cake of the year!

Ingredients

  • 7 pcs egg
  • 200 gram sugar
  • 200 gram wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 pk raspberry jelly
  • 1 pk raspberry sauce
  • 2 dl whipping cream
  • 1 dl sugar brine with raspberries
  • 2 pk finished marzipan
  • red pastry color
Ingredients

Step 1

Start by whisking together eggs and sugar until eggnog.

Mix together flour and baking powder and sift into the egg mixture. Carefully turn over with a spatula and pour into a steel bowl covered with parchment paper.

Put in the ovens at 190 degrees and bake for about 45 minutes.

Allow the sugar bread to cool completely before removing the baking paper. Cut the sugar bread so that it resembles a brain. Make a border in the middle that divides both sides of the brain. Pour over the sugar brine and put in the fridge. Whip together the whipped cream and butter over the "brain" and then put the cake in the freezer. This makes the marzipan stick well.

Roll the marzipan into thin strands. Take the cake out of the freezer and start laying the threads in a wavy pattern.

This actually goes pretty fast and was much easier than I thought. When you have filled the whole cake, put it back in the freezer.

Use a jelly pack and mix with only 1 dl of water. Carefully pour over the brain. This acts as a "glue" and looks pretty cool. Let the cake cool. Use pastry color and make small red threads in the brain.

Pour the raspberry sauce into a bowl and add the pastry color until it gets a bloody color. Put a knife in the middle of the cake and pour well with raspberry sauce. This is the ugliest cake I've ever made, but I'm sure my son and friends will be very happy. Have a good Halloween.
