Homemade BBQ sauce - Hawaiian style with pineapple
Perfect BBQ sauce for chicken with a wonderful taste of pineapple, ginger and chili.
Ingredients
- 500 gram canned pineapple with juice
- 2 dl brown sugar
- 2 dl soy sauce
- 2 dl Heinz Ketchup
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 klump fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp Siracha (chili sauce)
I love making great sauces and marinades. Making a good sauce lifts the quality and taste of the meal to new heights. When it comes to grilling, it is a must to make your own BBQ sauce. I vary a bit with the type of sauce depending on what it is to be served or glazes on. This fresh and summery BBQ sauce is perfect for chicken.
Step 1
Start by finely chopping the garlic and ginger. Fry on medium heat in the neutral oil until the garlic has become shiny and soft.
Step 2
Pour in the rest of the ingredient and put the pan back on the plate.
Step 3
Boil for 15 minutes before using a hand mixer and running it smoothly. You can also strain it after using the hand mixer, but I like the slightly coarser consistency.
Step 4
Pour into a glass and you now have a lovely BBQ sauce. It can be stored for a longer time in the refrigerator. Perfect as a sauce for grilling food and for brushing the meat during grilling. Good luck and enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner!
