Mustard sauce goes perfectly together with more than just graved salmon.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 4 tbsp mustard
- 3 tbsp dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp coarse-ground mustard
- 1,5 dl sunflower oil
We are entering a season with a lot of good food. There's going to be plenty of graved salmon that's going to be served. Mustard sauce is a must-have when eating graved salmon, but you can use it to so much more. That's why I don't put dill in my mustard sauce, but rather add some if needed before serving. Mustard sauce is deliteful with elk, deer and even hot dogs.
Step 1
I think you get the best result when mixing different types of mustard. I use normal mustard, dijon and coarse-ground mustard. Here you can of course mix the types of mustard you like the most.
Step 2
Start with combining brown sugar and vinegar. Mix till the sugar has dissolved.
Step 3
Add the mustard and mix it together.
Step 4
Slowly and sunflower oil while whisking. This way the sunflower oil gets smoothly incorporated and it improves the consistency of the sauce. Pour the finished sauce into a glass container and store it in the fridge. Since there's no eggs in this sauce, it can stay in the fridge for a long time without going bad. Make some extra jars so you can give them away as gifts to friends. Good luck!
