Homemade wheat tortillas - So much better than what you get to buy!
Making wheat tortillas yourself is easy and the rewards are great.
Ingredients
- 360 gram wheat flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 20 gram milk powder
- 40 gram neutral oil
- 240 gram lukewarm water
At home, it has become very popular with wheat tortillas with different fillings. It is simple, very good and incredibly popular in the food package if there are any leftovers. I have tried a few different recipes to find the optimal recipe. Here is my recipe for wheat tortillas.
Step 1
Start by weighing all the dry ingredients in a bowl. The reason I use grams here on all the ingredients is to get it more accurate. It is smart when you are going to bake or make dough.
Step 2
Add the dry items to the food processor with the kneading hook on. Mix a little before adding water and oil. Let the machine run at medium speed for about 10 minutes. Then you should have a very pliable and soft dough.
Step 3
Put the dough in a bowl and cover with plastic. Leave at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
Step 4
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll into fine buns. Have some flour on the kitchen workbench.
Step 5
Put on a large frying pan on high heat. I use 7 on a scale of 1-9. Do not add any fat to the pan as these will be fried in a dry pan. Roll out the buns into thin large circles that fit in the bottom of the frying pan. Shake off some flour and place in the frying pan.
Step 6
Bake for 2-3 minutes on each side and place in a saucepan with a lid or in a kitchen towel. They can be reheated before serving if you want to prepare the wheat tortillas earlier.
Fill with tacos, kebabs, salads or whatever you want and enjoy. This tastes so much better than the ones you bought in the store. Good luck.
