- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
Beef Bulgogi
- 1 pcs Bulgogi marinade
- 1 kg entrecoté
- 3 pcs spring onion
- 1 tbsp white sesame seeds
- neutral oil for frying
Recommended accessories
- Rice
- Salad
- Kimchi
Step 1
This marinade tastes fantastic and makes the steak incredibly tender. Korean Bulgogi has lots of flavor and is usually served with rice, kimchi and salad. The meat is very good so this can be used in several dishes. Bulgogi means directly translated to "grilled on an open flame" or something similar. You can use the same method on pork or chicken as well, but beef is the most common.
Step 2
The night before, I finish the marinade. You can also do this the same day, but then the meat should be left in the marinade for a minimum of 2 hours. In the original recipe, a Japanese acid is used that has a little sweetness and the same effect as kiwi and pineapple. There are some enzymes in these fruits that are perfect for tenderizing the flesh. I have used pineapple and it turned out incredibly good! Start by mixing all the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl.
Step 3
For this dish, it is best to use Entrecoté. It should be cut into thin slices. A smart trick is to put the meat in the freezer for 30 minutes. Then it is much easier to cut up. Cut the meat into thin strips / slices and add to the marinade.
Step 4
Mix well and cover with plastic. I have a vacuum machine so I like to use it when marinating meat. Let the meat marinate for a minimum of 2 hours. I leave it in the fridge overnight.
Step 5
The meat should be fried on high heat for a short time. I recommend using an iron pan if you have it. It is important that you do not put all the meat in at once. Put a thin layer of meat in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side. Repeat the process until the meat is done. Fry in a little neutral oil. This is going to smoke a bit so seen on the fan.
Step 6
Now this Korean popular dish is ready to serve. Served with some freshly steamed rice and salad. It is also very good with some Kimchi and extra chili puree next to it. Good luck and enjoy perhaps the best steak strips you have ever tasted!
