Lobsterroll - Luxury fast food that tastes fantastic!

Light sausage bread filled with one of the world's best ingredients.

  • 2 pcs sausage bread
  • 150 gram lobster
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 cloves garlic
  • a little tarragon

Dressing

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped shallots
  • 1 tbsp dill
  • a little cajennepepper

On my trip to the USA this year, I was served these delights at several servings. Lobsterroll is unfortunately an expensive snack due to the price of lobster in this country, but if you want to treat yourself to something really good, I recommend trying Lobsterroll. In the United States, Lobsterroll is created in two different ways depending on where in the country you are. Either natural or mixed with a little mayonnaise and herbs. Here you have a recipe for both so you can choose which one you like best. I served these as snacks to the guests on my birthday along with a glass of champagne.

Step 1

Buy light sausage bread of good quality or make homemade sausage bread. Here is the link to my homemade sausage bread Homemade sausage bread - So incredibly much better than the ones you buy!

Step 2

If you get hold of raw lobster, the result will be the very best. Heat the butter together with a little garlic and tarragon and let the butter get a light brown color before you let the butter cool down a bit.

Mix together mayonnaise, dill and finely chopped shallots. If you want to make homemade mayonnaise, you have the recipe here: Homemade mayonnaise - The starting point for many good dressings If you use purchased mayonnaise, I recommend Hellmanns, which is much closer to home-made than the well-known Norwegian mayonnaise producers.

Step 4

Fry the lobster on medium heat in the butter until it is just thoroughly heated. It is important not to fry the lobster too much.

Step 5

Brush some of the butter on the sausage breads and place them on a grill pan, grill or in a frying pan.

Step 6

Mix half of the lobster together with the dressing. The rest you have natural. Fill the sausage breads and finally garnish with some herbs. Serve with a slice of lemon as it is very good with a little extra lemon juice on these. Do not be afraid to bring some of the butter either. Serve with some napkins and enjoy these delights.
