Philly Cheesesteak is one of the best sandwiches I know of. I tasted this for the first time in the US. Here the goodies are not spared. Thin, tasty flakes of beef, spicy vegetables and lots of melted cheese. This dish is not recommended by Grete Roede, but tastes incredibly good! Find some napkins, because it's getting dirty here!
Step 1
Fry the steak in a pan so it gets a nice crust. Put in a fireproof pan in an oven at 150 degrees and cook until it reaches a core temperature of 55 degrees. Allow the steak to cool completely before cutting it into thin slices.
Step 2
When you make this sandwich, it's good to have everything ready. It takes a very short time to make when you first start. I start by heating the baguette in the oven.
Step 3
Find a frying pan and turn on high heat. Use a little oil in a pan and add finely shredded onions and green peppers. Cook until the onion starts to get a little color. Add the sugar over the onion and pour in the balsamic vinegar. Mix together and place on one side of the frying pan. Pour a little more oil into the pan and add the slices of beef. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle over the cheese and let it melt a little.
