Ranch dressing - Classic American yogurt dressing

  • 400 gram natural yogurt
  • 100 gram mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp dried dill
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tbsp dried chives
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Ranch dressing is a traditional American dressing that is used a lot. It is fresh and a little sour in taste. In the US, it is often made with buttermilk and even more mayonnaise, but I have adjusted it a bit to my own taste. With even more yoghurt, it becomes much fresher and healthier, but still has the good taste.

Step 1

Start by measuring out the yoghurt and mayonnaise and place in a bowl. Add all the spices.

Step 2

Stir well and taste if you want some small adjustments to the amount of spices. Remember that the flavors come out even more clearly when it has been left in the fridge for a while.

Step 3

Pour the dressing onto a jam jar, close the lid and put in the fridge. This dressing is very good as a dip for vegetables, on salads, sandwiches or a chicken dinner. The keeping quality is at least as long as the keeping quality of the yoghurt. If you want a thinner dressing when serving, you can mix it with a little milk. Good luck.
