Kebab comes in many forms and Seekh kebab is best known from India and Pakistan. This is minced meat with lots of good flavors and grilled on skewers over flames. The taste is fantastic and it is very easy to make yourself.
Ingredients
- 1,5 kg high ribs beef
- 1 pcs large yellow onion
- 4 pcs garlic clove
- 1 pcs ginger
- fresh coriander
- spice mix
Spice mix
- 1 tbsp white pepper
- 1 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp paprika powder
- 2 tsp cayennepepper
My recipe today is of minced beef. I got high ribs of beef from my local grocery store and have added the delicious spices, onions and herbs that give the authentic taste of a Seekh kebab. Shape the meat around flat skewers and grill over flames. Serve with a delicious garlic dressing, vegetables and chili sauce. Serve in a tortilla lefse or homemade pita bread.
Step 1
Start by grinding onions, garlic and ginger to a perfectly smooth puree in a blender or food processor.
Step 2
Pour this mixture into a fine sieve or squeeze the juice out with your hands. This causes the onion to lose some liquid. Find a bowl and add the meat. Finely chop a good fist with mint and coriander.
Step 3
Add the onion mix, spices and herbs, and mix very well.
Step 4
Here it is best to use your hands. Mix together for at least 5 minutes until you get a slightly sticky and even mass.
Step 5
Put the mixed meat in the fridge for at least 30 minutes with plastic wrap over. Find some flat skewers and form an even "sausage" around the skewers.
Step 6
Grill on direct heat and turn the grill regularly. There will be some flames, but it only gives a good taste. When the kebab has a nice and golden color, keep it warm on the grill on indirect heat until serving. This smells and tastes amazing.
