  • 600 gram beef mince
  • salt and pepper
  • butter and oil for frying

Fried onion

  • 3 pcs onion
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • salt and pepper

Cream sauce

  • 2 dl bull broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 dl whipping cream

This Danish classic is very good! A juicy chopped beef with fried onions, cream sauce and beets. Here you get all the tips to get the best result.

Step 1

Start by finding a saucepan and add 1 tablespoon oil and 1 tablespoon butter. Cut the onion into strips and place in the pan. Put the pan on medium + heat. Stir occasionally. Please be patient. It takes about 20 minutes to get a perfectly browned and slightly crispy onion.

Step 2

Buy beef mince 14% fat and divide the package into 4 equal parts. about 150 grams per chopped beef. Carefully shape the meat into circles and season well with salt and pepper.

Step 3

Add 1 tablespoon oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a frying pan and set on medium + heat (from 1-9 I used strength 7 on the oven). When the frying pan has warmed up, put the beef in the pan. Do not touch or turn them until 7 minutes have elapsed. Then turn them over and fry for another 7 minutes. Baking time depends on the thickness of the chopped beef. The chopped beef should be cooked through, but still juicy.

Step 4

Pour the beef broth into a bowl and whisk in the cornstarch. Pour this mixture into the frying pan when you have finished frying. When the sauce thickens, pour on the cream. Let cook for a few minutes and the sauce is ready.

Step 5

Serve the chopped beef with cream sauce, potatoes and pickled beets. It is also very good with a little finely chopped parsley on top. Now you can enjoy a delicious Danish classic. Good luck.
