Focaccia is an oven-baked and juicy Italian bread. The bread is suitable as an accompaniment to a salad, to pasta or to simply without anything else. The delicious crispy salty crust and the juicy bread are incredibly good to dip in a little aioli or use it to make fantastic sandwiches.
Ingredients
- 1 kg wheat flour
- 1 liter water
- 1 pack fresh yeast
- 3 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 pcs chili
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 handful fresh rosemary
- 1 lite glass good olives
- maldon salt
It's incredibly easy to make Focaccia. This is the basic recipe and you can try different flavors. The most common flavors are olive oil, salt, olives, rosemary, chili, feta cheese or sun-dried tomatoes. Use your favorite flavors.
Step 1
Start by pouring 1 liter of water into the food processor and add the package of yeast. Remember to use temperate water. Water that is about 37 degrees. Put on the food processor for a few minutes so that the yeast dissolves. Stop the machine and pour in 1 kg of flour, 10 grams of salt and olive oil. Run the machine on medium speed for 15 minutes until the batter is completely smooth. Put the bowl in a warm place and leave to rise for 40 minutes. Then the dough rises to about double size.
Step 2
Prepare a long pan with baking paper at the bottom. Pour on a little olive oil and sprinkle a little salt on the baking paper. This gives a crispier bottom with a delicious taste of salt. Pour the dough into the pan and add the olives, sun-dried tomatoes or the flavors you chose. Finish by adding a little olive oil and sprinkle with a little salt. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees hot air and insert the pan. Let it cook for 20-25 minutes and place on a rack to cool.
Then the focaccia is ready! If the recipe became large you can nicely freeze down half. If you do this, thaw it in the refrigerator before using it next time and heat in the oven.
