Gladkokkens Taco Spices - Homemade is always the best!
Making your own taco seasoning is easy, healthier and tastes much better!
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp whole black pepper
- 1 tbsp cummin seeds
- 2 tbsp coriander seeds
- 3 tbsp cummin ground
- 2 tbsp smoked peppers
- 2 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp celery salt
- 1 tsp cayennepepper
Many people buy ready-made taco powder in the store, but it is easy to make your own. It tastes better, has less salt and no weird e-substances. Try a little until you find the perfect spice mixture for you. Store in an airtight jam jar and feel free to make a large portion so you have homemade taco seasoning for a long time to come. This is a very good starting point and the one I use at home.
Step 1
Measure out all the spices and place in a dry frying pan.
Step 2
Heat the spices on medium heat for 5-10 minutes until you feel a delicious spice smell spread in the kitchen.
Step 3
Pour the spices into a blender or food processor and run until fine-grained.
Step 4
Fill the spice into a clean and dry jam jar.
Step 5
I use about 1 topped tablespoon for a packet of beef mince or 500 grams of meat.
