Perfect for a day you want good food, fun and maybe a good glass of red wine. This recipe is suitable for a family dinner or when you have guests. These are meatballs for me! Serve with a good pasta and the evening is saved.
Step 1
Start finding a good frying pan and add some good olive oil (should cover the entire bottom). Run the onion, chili and garlic almost completely smooth in a blender or finely chop into very small pieces. Put the onion in the oil and cook for a few minutes until it is completely soft. Put the minced meat in a bowl and start by adding the salt. I like to use my hands to get a smooth and nice mass.
Step 2
After the salt, add the rest of the spices, the fried onion, the egg and stir well. If you think the consistency is a bit loose, you can add more breading flour.
Step 3
Shape the meat into fine meatballs. I like that they are a bit big so you can not eat them in one piece. When they are a little big, they also become more juicy in the middle. Place the meatballs on a baking paper and prepare for frying.
Step 4
Fry the meatballs in the same pan in which you fried the onion. Use well with oil and fairly high heat. You want the meatballs to have a small crust, but they do not have to be cooked through. They should be in the oven afterwards. Place the meatballs in a fireproof pan.
Step 5
Now we are going to make the sauce in the same frying pan. We want to include the good flavors that have formed in the pan. Start by pouring in red wine vinegar, this evaporates quickly in the hot oil, but gives a good acidity in the sauce. Then pour in whipped cream and spices. Finish with the tomato sauce and let the sauce boil in the pan for a few minutes. Pour the hot sauce over the meatballs.
Step 6
Sprinkle over the cheese and the meatballs are ready to enter the oven. Bake at 200 degrees for 15 minutes. Then it looks like this.
Step 7
Sprinkle with some fresh basil and the dish is ready to serve. Serve with a pasta you like. This time I served it with tagliatelle, but here you can use whatever you want. Feel free to place a bowl of grated parmesan on the table so guests can sprinkle a little extra! Good luck.
