Greek cabbage salad

In Greece, they often use cabbage instead of salad and it gives a very good taste and delicious crispy consistency.

  • 1 pcs red onion
  • 1 pcs cucumber
  • 100 gram feta cheese
  • 100 gram good olives
  • 1 pack small tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pcs lemon
  • a little fresh basil
  • a little fresh oregano
  • salt and pepper

A good Greek salad is dinner in itself, but can be used as an accompaniment. This salad has a delicious dressing and all the classic good flavors you associate with Greece. In such dishes, the quality of the ingredients you use is crucial for the good taste. Use good quality feta cheese and sweet good tomatoes.

Step 1

Start by cutting the cabbage into thin strips.

Step 2

Put the cabbage in a strainer, rinse and sprinkle well with salt. This makes the cabbage a little softer and loses some liquid. Leave with salt for 15 minutes before rinsing well with cold water and letting it drain.

Find a bowl and add olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Step 4

Finely chop red onion, divide tomatoes and cut cucumber into slices. Put all this in the bowl with the dressing. Pour over the cabbage and mix well with your hands.

Step 5

Place the salad on the plate you want to serve in. Sprinkle with fresh herbs, add the olives and feta cheese. Finish with a few good drops of olive oil and a little salt and pepper. Very good alone or perfect as an accessory.
