I have become very fond of baking. It is somewhat relaxing to work with a yeast dough. When it also behaves the way you want and tastes absolutely fantastic, then comes the joy of baking. Here is a simple and very good recipe for Baguettes.
Ingredients
- 420 gram wheat flour
- 1 tsp maldon salt
- 2 tbsp good olive oil
- 0,5 pk dry yeast
- 3 dl lukewarm water
Baguettes can be used for a lot! Perfect next to a soup, for shrimp sandwiches, a sandwich, garlic baguettes or for breakfast. The crispy crust together and a fluffy light bread inside tastes fantastic.
Step 1
Start by mixing the dry ingredients in the bowl of the food processor. Put on the kneading hook and add oil and some of the water.
Step 2
Dilute with the water. It should be a flexible dough that releases the edges of the mixing bowl when it kneads. I knead this for about 15 minutes on medium speed.
Step 3
When the dough is kneaded, place plastic wrap over the bowl and let it rise for 30-40 minutes until the dough has doubled in size. The time varies slightly depending on the amount of yeast and the temperature of the water.
Step 4
When the dough has risen, divide it into 3 equal pieces and "fold" the dough several times lengthwise so that it begins to form into a "sausage".
Step 5
Roll on until the length of the baguette fits on the short side of the baking tray. Place baking paper on the baking tray and place the baguettes at a good distance from each other.
Step 6
I use the raise function in my new Siemens oven, but it also works to raise at room temperature.
Step 7
Then you take over the plastic foil again and raise for another 40 minutes. Grease the baguette with a little water, cut some thin strips with a knife and sprinkle with a little flour.
Step 8
Bake at 220 degrees for 25 minutes. If you have a steam function in the oven, turn on the supply of steam. This gives a better crust. If you do not have the steam function, add some water to the bottom of a pan and put in the oven. It creates moisture and steam in the oven. Let them rest for a few minutes on a rack and serve hot. Good luck.
