Wheat bar with Nugatti - Some of the best I have tasted !!
Delicious wheat bar filled with Nugatti and topped with homemade vanilla cream and icing!
Ingredients
Sweet bun dough
- 1 kg wheat flour
- 150 gram sugar
- 150 gram melted butter
- 5 dl H-milk
- 0,5 tsp salt
- 3 tsp cardamom
- 1 pack dry yeast for sweet doughs
Vanilla cream
- 5 pcs egg yolks
- 2,5 dl milk
- 2,5 dl whipping cream
- 100 gram sugar
- 50 gram cornstarch
- 1 pcs fresh vanilla pod
Topping and filling
- 200 gram nugatti
- icing sugar, icing
- 2 tbsp nougat (chocolate sauce)
- 1 tbsp water (chocolate sauce)
This wheat bar had probably not been approved by Grete Roede, but that may be why it tastes so incredibly good! I think it's fun to bake and the smell of freshly baked bread is fantastic. The combination of nougat, vanilla cream and icing is dangerously good! This is a fairly large recipe and holds 4 large wheat sticks. They work well to freeze down so make a few more and save the rest in the freezer.
Step 1
Start by making the bun dough. Pour all the dry ingredients into the baking dish and mix well.

Step 2
Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the milk. Let warm up to about 25 degrees (make sure it does not get too hot). Pour the milk mixture over the dry and let the machine run for about 10 minutes. The dough should be glossy, pliable and fine. You can adjust with a little extra flour if necessary. If the dough "releases" the baking dish and is a little sticky, it is perfect. Put on plastic wrap and leave to rise for 1 hour or until the dough has reached double size.

Step 3
It tastes very much better with homemade vanilla sauce. I have explained thoroughly in this post how to make this. The recipe also has instructional video. Hjemmelaget vaniljekrem - en av de mest brukte dessertsausene.

Step 4
Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll into a long sausage. It is smart that the length of the wheat bar is not longer than the baking tray.

![Dsc 0265 3](https://gladkokken.imgix.net/DSC_0265-3.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&bg=%23FFFFFF&fit=clip&fm=jpg&q=60&w=700&s=632d3455e567007a454cd7b00fd1a0f3)
![Dsc 0266 3](https://gladkokken.imgix.net/DSC_0266-3.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&bg=%23FFFFFF&fit=clip&fm=jpg&q=60&w=700&s=9fc5783454f5877a3938ef73da0d4e9a)
Step 5
Use a rolling pin and flatten them. Grease well with Nugatti in the middle of the "sausage" and towards the edge, but leave a clean part of the edge all around.
![Dsc 0267 4](https://gladkokken.imgix.net/DSC_0267-4.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&bg=%23FFFFFF&fit=clip&fm=jpg&q=60&w=700&s=96128887f4dd29b1316f90b5608876d8)
![Dsc 0268 4](https://gladkokken.imgix.net/DSC_0268-4.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&bg=%23FFFFFF&fit=clip&fm=jpg&q=60&w=700&s=5bad0f83536c5555d23938fca12bebec)
Step 6
Fold the long side of the dough that is furthest from you towards the middle. Then take the side closest to you and fold to the middle. Make sure you fold so far that you hit the dough on the other side if it does not get a little sticky. Squeeze well and make a thick strip in the dough all the way down.
![Dsc 0270 2](https://gladkokken.imgix.net/DSC_0270-2.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&bg=%23FFFFFF&fit=clip&fm=jpg&q=60&w=700&s=78ed183a9edbdd12bfb3067ecc45269f)
![Dsc 0273 4](https://gladkokken.imgix.net/DSC_0273-4.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&bg=%23FFFFFF&fit=clip&fm=jpg&q=60&w=700&s=ba08a3e7e85c6250f77690e2a09109a4)
Step 7
Fill with vanilla cream in the "crack" down the entire wheat bar. I use a spray bag, but it also works well with a spoon. Let them rise for about 45 more minutes. When they have risen, I brush with a little egg before they are to be fried.
![Dsc 0277 5](https://gladkokken.imgix.net/DSC_0277-5.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&bg=%23FFFFFF&fit=clip&fm=jpg&q=60&w=700&s=cb6cd9ab129472d06cff8adf49173196)
![Dsc 0284 3](https://gladkokken.imgix.net/DSC_0284-3.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&bg=%23FFFFFF&fit=clip&fm=jpg&q=60&w=700&s=2ed09922ba5bd5de51b75e353e32822e)
Step 8
Put the wheat sticks in a preheated oven at 200 degrees hot air. They should cook for about 15 minutes until they are golden and fine.
![Dsc 0290 2](https://gladkokken.imgix.net/DSC_0290-2.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&bg=%23FFFFFF&fit=clip&fm=jpg&q=60&w=700&s=f1e4179c215c906a44a402efb42ccf1c)
Step 9
Let the wheat sticks rest until they are a little more cooled. Mix the icing sugar with a little water until you get a smooth and fine icing. Pour over some of the icing. Heat a couple of tablespoons of Nugatti together with 1 tablespoon of water. Then you get a liquid mass and it becomes light and pour over. Pour over the liquid Nugatti and now they are ready!
![Dsc 0298](https://gladkokken.imgix.net/DSC_0298.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&bg=%23FFFFFF&fit=clip&fm=jpg&q=60&w=700&s=80075c73b6925fa898509f72e034c54c)
Divide into neat slices and serve. This is very good!
