Hamburger bread - Homemade is always the best!

I really like a good hamburger. The bread is important to get a very good burger. You can, of course, buy ready-made ones in the store, but they can never be compared to the ones you make yourself.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Sifted spelt flour (wheat flour)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pk dry yeast
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 5 dl lukewarm water
  • 2 pcs egg
  • 1 pcs egg til pensling
  • 0,5 dl milk for brushing
  • sesame seeds

Homemade hamburger bread is very good. In this recipe I have used spelt flour, but it is also possible to follow the same recipe with regular wheat flour. Here you get a thorough step by step recipe with video instruction. There are a number of tricks and tips for the result to be the best possible. When you first make hamburger bread, I recommend making a large portion and freezing the ones you do not eat until next time :-)

Step 1

Start by pouring salt, sugar, dry yeast into the mixing bowl. Measure out hot water (37 degrees) and add some water and flour to this mixture. Stir well to let stand for 10 minutes. If it starts to bubble a little, you know that the yeast is good and that the result is good.

Step 2

Add eggs, melted butter and almost all the water in the bowl. Stir well and add the rest of the flour. It is always a little smart to save a little water (about 0.5 dl). It is easier to add extra water if the dough is a little dry. Use the kneading hook and let it knead for 10 minutes on low speed. The dough should be pliable and drop the edge of the mixing bowl.

Step 3

Take the dough out of the bowl and shape into a large bun. Use a little neutral oil in the bottom of the mixing bowl and put the dough back. Rub the dough around a couple of times so that it is greased with oil. This prevents the dough from drying out. Lay on a towel and leave to rise for about 1 hour until the dough has doubled in size.

Step 4

When the dough rises, I make the pans of aluminum foil ready. Fold neatly together and feel free to use the bottom of a glass or bowl to get the same size for everyone. Place on a tray with baking paper and grease the pans with a little neutral oil.

When the bowls have risen, divide them into dough pieces of about 110-120 grams per piece. Form into a bun and place in the aluminum pan on the tray. Cover the dough once to leave to rise for about 1 more hour. Brush with a mixture of eggs and milk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Step 6

Put the tray in a preheated oven at 200 degrees and bake for about 15 minutes until they are golden and fine.

Let them rest for 15 minutes before using scissors and cutting up the foil. Now you have delicious homemade hamburger bread ready to enjoy. The ones you do not use, you freeze until the next time. Good luck.
