Ponzu Marinated Pork - A delicious flavor combination!
The sour Ponzu sauce goes perfectly with pork on the grill.
Ingredients
- 1 kg sliced pork neck
- 1 pcs lemon
- 1 pcs orange
- a little neutral oil for frying
- salt and pepper
Marinade and sauce
- 1 dl Kikkoman Ponzu sauce
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 klump fresh ginger
I do not know exactly what the Ponzu sauce does with the pork, but together with fresh ginger and garlic, this is magically good. Use the marinade both as a sauce and for brushing the meat during grilling. Serve with grilled lemon and orange. This dish was very good and is guaranteed to be made many times. I have also made a video instruction that is further down the page.
Step 1
Start by finely chopping the garlic and fresh ginger. Mix the Ponzu sauce together with the garlic and ginger. Find a shape that exactly fits the amount of meat you are going to marinate. Pour some of the marinade into the bottom of the pan, add the meat and pour the rest over. Cover with plastic and put in the fridge. Let marinate for a minimum of 3 hours. You can also marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
Step 2
Heat the grill to high heat and you must first grill the meat on direct heat. Let grill for 3-4 minutes on maximum heat on both sides. Then pull the meat over to indirect heat and let the grill finish to the perfect internal temperature. Use a thermometer so you get it just perfect. The perfect temperature on the neck of pork is 72-73 degrees. Divide orange and lemon in 2 and grill on direct heat until you get a golden and caramelized surface. This gives a good sweetness in the citrus fruits and fits very well with this recipe.
Step 3
Let the meat rest for 10 minutes. Cut into strips and sprinkle with a little good salt and squeeze over grilled citrus. Now you can enjoy a delicious dinner!
