Ingredients

This is a great way to turn a little dull chicken breast into juicy thin strips. Pulled chicken or "Grated chicken" is very common in BBQ and for tacos. This is popular for both young and old. You can prepare the chicken well before serving and only warm up when you are going to eat. Here I show you how easy it is to make this dish at home.

Step 1

Start by finding a pan and set on medium + heat. Clean and coarsely chop an onion. Put this in the pan.

Step 2

Add the chicken and pour over the water. The water should just cover the chicken. So if it does not hold with the amount stated in the recipe then just take a little extra. Pour spices into the water and bring to a boil. Make sure that the chicken does not boil, but simmer. Let cook for 60 minutes.

Step 3

When the chicken is cooking, you can make the sauce. Fry onion and garlic in butter until golden and soft.

Step 4

Pour in the rest of the ingredients for the sauce and mix well. I add a little of the cooking broth from the chicken and let the sauce simmer.

Step 5

Pick the chicken out of the water and put on a foil. Grate the chicken with two forks. Then you get lots of thin strips of chicken.
