Really good Pizza Spinner - Delicious for dinner and packed lunch
Pizza spinner is very good. Kids love pizza spinners and when you make them good I guess most adults also think this is great.
Ingredients
Pizza Spinners
- 1 pcs Family pizza base
- 1 pcs pizza filling
- 400 gram cheese
Pizza filling
- 1 pcs onion
- 2 pcs carrot
- 4 cloves garlic
- 4 pcs meat sausages
- 1 can canned tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- a little chili powder
- olive oil for frying.
The nice thing is that you can freeze them down to take to a lunch, include in the packed lunch, take on a forest trip or if you want some supper. There are enough options for when you can eat them, so feel free to make a double portion so you have some extra. These taste so good that they unfortunately disappear quickly.
Step 1
Make a pizza base and let it rise. For pizza spinners, I use the usual family pizza recipe. Here you will find the recipe for the base Pizza base
Step 2
When you make pizza filling, it is important that it does not become too "runny" sauce. Start by finding a large frying pan and pour in some good olive oil. Put the heat on medium hot and add a little chili powder to the oil. Finely chop carrots, onions, sausages and garlic. Add this to the frying pan and fry until the onion has turned golden and fine. Pour in tomato paste and sugar and cook for a few minutes. Then the slightly bitter taste disappears from the tomato puree.
Step 3
Add canned tomatoes and simmer for about 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. It is important that the sauce is not hot when you put it on the pizza dough. It destroys the yeast in the dough and the result is not as good. Let the sauce stand and cool until the pizza base is ready.
Step 4
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let rise for 45 minutes to about double size. Take flour well on the kitchen workbench and place the dough on top of the flour. Knead out the air before you start rolling the dough into a large rectangular shape. The dough should be about 1 cm thick. Try to get the dough as even as possible.
Step 5
When the dough has rolled out, add the cooled pizza filling. Spread evenly over the entire dough, but leave a 7 cm strip furthest from you. This is because when you roll this up, you need some dough that has not been sauceed.
Step 6
Add 2/3 of the grated cheese and spread evenly on top of the sauce. Now you should start rolling the dough together. Start closest to yourself and roll the dough forward.
Step 7
When you get to the last part without sauce, make it a little thinner with your fingers and roll the pizza. Squeeze the joint tightly.
Step 8
Find a sharp knife and cut up pieces of the roll 2-3 cm thick. Place the pieces on a baking tray with baking paper and squeeze them a little flatter and adjust the shape a little.
Step 9
Sprinkle over the rest of the cheese and leave to rise under a towel or plastic wrap for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 225 degrees and bake the Pizza Spinners for 15 minutes.
Step 10
Let them cool down a bit on a rack before eating them! Freeze the rest in bags and you have the perfect packed lunch / packed lunch. When using the frozen Pizza Spinners, thaw them at room temperature and to warm them. Use 200 degrees in the oven and heat them for about 5 minutes. Good luck.
